Come celebrate Canada Day at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site! In addition to exploring the historic building with its canning line and herring reduction plant, don’t miss the new The Pull of the Net: Commercial Fishing in Canada exhibit, which opened in May.
Look for the Cannery at the foot of Moncton Street in Steveston, where the entire village will be celebrating Canada Day with its annual Salmon Festival and parade. Look for food vendors and artisans in front of the Cannery, and don’t forget catch the performances happening throughout the day at Fisherman’s Park. We will also have a free bike valet on site if you are looking for an alternative to transit or driving into the village.
Admission to the Cannery is free!
